Universal Success Enterprises a Singapore based group with diversified interests has proposed plans to set up a coal based thermal power plant (10,000 MW) in the coastal region of Gujarat. The project entails a cumulative investment of Rs.550,000 million. The MTPP will be fired by high calorific value coal imported from Indonesia (coal mines owned by the group). As of January 2009, the required land has been identified and pre-feasibility study is in progress. The project is scheduled for commissioning in 10 years to 12 years. Plans are also on the anvil to set up a 2,000 MW CPP to cater exclusively for the Industrial development in Dholera region
