Dharani Sugar & Chemicals a part of the PGP Group has reported progress on the sugar mill (3500 TCD) at Kalayanallur in Villupuram district of TN. The project is being implemented at cost of Rs.3,500 million to Rs.4,000 million and it includes a distillery for production of alcohol & budgetary allocation for environment management. As of February 2009, erection of machineries is in progress. The project is expected to be completed by June 2009.

Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam is to construct new 33 KV substations in Kurukshetra district of Haryana. The project will construct 13 substations along with 33 KV and 11KV lines. As of February 2009, KGL Systel has been awarded the contract for erection supply of equipment at a cost of Rs.300 million. The project is slated for completion within 12 months.

Vasantdada Patil Co-op Sugar Factory is expanding and modernising at its Kalwan sugar mill in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The sugarcane crushing capacity will be increased from 2500 TCD to 3,500 TCD at a cost of Rs.70 million. As of March 2009, the company recently floated tenders to appoint contractors for modernization. The expansion is expected to be completed by 2010.

Trident Group a dynamic group engaged in diversified business venture is setting up a terry towel plant at Dhaula in Sangrur district of Punjab in 2 phases.

The project is to manufacture terry towels (10 TPD) with 3.5 TPD in phase I & 6.5 TPD in phase II. The project is being implemented at an investment of Rs.420 million. As of March 2009, civil works are under progress. The phase I is expected to be completed by May 2009 and project is scheduled for completion by September 2009.
