Venezuela : water resources

The purpose of the contest is the selection of the legal person will be responsible for the construction MAKING THE TUNNEL PROJECT transfer Yacambu-Quibor “and engagement with the terms and conditions contained in the specification.


The works of the Competition include the implementation of the following work:

b) open pit excavation around. 35,400 m3 and 2,000 m2 of stabilizing slopes.
c) Excavation and lining of two (2) vertical wells circular diameter of 5.50 meters and digging depth of approximately 80 meters each.
d) Excavation and galleries lining circular diameter of 4.00 meters and 145 meters of excavation length.
e) Construction of civil works, supply and laying of electromechanical equipment, such as: warehouse service tunnel, approximately 400 m2, 15-ton bridge crane.; grilles guard; type butterfly valves catchment of 1500 mm and two (2) bilge pumping stations for drainage wells and the Transfer Tunnel.


Those interested in participating may obtain the specification in the HYDRAULIC SYSTEM office Yacambu-Quibor CA located at the intersection with Avenue 20 Av Vargas, Torre Corp Banca, Piso 13, Oficina 134, Barquisimeto, Estado Lara, Venezuela, from the day April 23 2009 hours between 8:00 and 16.00, at a cost of 300.00 bolĂ­vares, which will be deposited in cash in the Current Account No. 0158-0072-12-0721014883 Universal Central Bank and will be delivered to a company representative, duly authorized by the Representative Legal.


Requests for clarification of the participants, should be made in writing and may be made until May 18, 2009.


The system and mechanisms for the rating and the granting of the Award shall be adequately specified in the relevant specifications.


Event in receipt of expressions of Will and supply will be held on May 21, 2009, in the hours between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (Venezuelan legal hours). at the headquarters of the owner, located on Avenue 20 intersection with Avenida Vargas, Torre Corp Banca, Piso 9, Oficina 97, Barquisimeto, Estado Lara, Venezuela, is not to receive offers or communications to incorporate additional information same, after the expiration of the period. After the public event of receipt of expressions of will and tender, the same day, May 21, 2009, will start the opening event of Envelopes A of tenders documents containing Rating.

SANDTON CITY REFURBISHMENT AND EXTENSION PROJECT, SOUTH AFRICA

The refurbishment and extension of the mall will be conducted in three phases.
The first phase will include the refurbishment of the existing centre; the addition of 30 000 m2 of new retail space, taking the complex to a massive 158 000m2; and improved access and additional parking bays. The interior refurbishment includes introducing more natural light and internal landscaping with ‘green’ touches, and the brightening of the parking areas and a rooftop restaurant with views of the city. Throughout the complex, there will be an emprovement in security, through the installation of survillance equipment. The first phase of the project also includes structural elements aimed at improving customer flow and movement by connecting the



entire mall, which means completing the loop between Woolworths at one end and Edgars at the other. Connections between upper and lower levels will be more streamlined, access and vehicle flow will be improved and the complex will be furhter integrated, through easier access, with the Sandton Convention Centre, Nelson Mandela Square and the broader Sandton area. The refurbishment will extend to the replacement of tiles, ceilings, bulkheads, colmns and lighting. Out-of-date capital equipment, such as lifts, escalators, air conditioning, perking equipment and building management system will also be replaced, and a key component of the project is improving electrical backup power to counteract future shortages of electricity.
The second and third phases will include the construction of a new 80-storey office tower, an additional hotel and increased residential housing, further extending the Sandton City retail offering. Also included are structural strengthening of the existing complex, revamping its external facade, as well as that the existibng office tower, and reconfiguring the hotel malls. Value The first phase of the project will cost R1,77-billion. Duration The project is expected to be completed by 2012.
Client Sandton City is owned 75% by Liberty Properties and 25% by Pareto. Latest developments Construction on the first phase of the redevelopment and expansion of Sandton City started in January 2009, with the Rivonia road parkade closing to make way for the developments.
