Nidhi Mining belongs to Friends Group of Companies is to set up a soda ash unit in Kutch district of Gujarat. The unit envisages a capacity of 200,000 TPA of soda ash for phase I. The project is to be set up at a total investment of Rs. 20,000 million with phase I entailing Rs.8,000 million. Consultants and equipment suppliers are yet to be identified. As of March 2009, land acquisition is in progress. The phase I is scheduled for completion in 1 year from zero date.

CF Biotech a group company of Clean Energies Development Corporation is to set up an ethanol unit in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The unit includes bio-diesel and a power plant at an estimated cumulative investment of Rs.2,500 million. As of March 2009, the preparation of preliminary project report by ICRISAT, Medak is under progress and the proposal is in its preliminary stage.

Bush Foods Overseas an exporter of Basmati rice is to set up a rice processing unit adjacent to its Bahalgarh unit in Sonepat district of Haryana. The new unit will produce 300 TPD of processed rice of all varieties. The project is to entail an estimated investment of Rs.500 million. As of March 2009, the project is in planning stage and works are to commence from first week of April 2009. The project is slated for completion in 6 months from the date of commencement.

Sundareswarar Alloy & Stainless Steel a group company of Best & Crompton is to set up an alloy steel manufacturing unit at Seyanoor near Manamadurai in Sivaganga district of TN. The project is to be implemented in 3 phases and phase I entails a capacity of 300,000 TPA at an investment of Rs.7,500 million. Consultants & equipment suppliers have been identified. As of March 2009, the foundation stone for the project has been laid and civil works are expected to commence in June 2009. The phase I is scheduled to be completed in 18 months. The company also proposes to invest Rs.15,000 million in the second & third phases in the next 5 years to 6 years.
