Bosnia and Herzegovina : ROADS REHABILITATION IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The State of Bosnia and Herzegovina has received the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for a project to rehabilitate priority road sections in the two Entities (Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) in order to bring the network up to maintainable standard. In addition, the Project will improve the efficiency of the road sector through the provision of consultancy services to assist both with the introduction of performance based maintenance contracts and with the enhancement of Financial Management Information Systems (‘MIS’).

The project, which has a total estimated cost equivalent to EUR 75 million, will require the procurement of the following works, services and goods:

  1. Civil works on rehabilitation and reconstruction of priority road sections in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with total length of 454 km;
  2. Civil works on rehabilitation and reconstruction of priority road sections in Republika Srpska with total length of 394 km;
  3. Consultancy Services related to the preparation and implementation of Performance Based Maintenance Contracts on selected pilot regions of the road network;
  4. Consultancy services to assist with developing a Business Plan and to enhance financial Management Information Systems
  5. Purchase of IT software and hardware, and training, to enhance existing Financial Management Information Systems
  6. Purchase and introduction of a weather information system for roads in Republika Srpska

Zambia : Road rehabilitation

Tender for the rehabilitation of Road RD74 From Mushota to Chisembe to M3 (95km) under works by the local Road Authority in Kawambwa District,Luapula Province (Lot 6)

RDA/CE/051/009 The Government of the Repubblic of Zambia has received funds from the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) under phase 2 of the Road Sector Programme Support (RSPS2) and intends to use these funds for the rehabilitation of selected district roads in the Luapula Province of Zambia. The Road Development Agency Procurement Committee, on behalf of the Kawambwa Local Road Authority, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders. The scope of works in this contract includes, but is not limited to the following:

a) Clearing and Grubbing;

b) Earthworks; Gravelling;

d) Drainage Works.

The tender is open to firms that are registered in Zambia as contractors of road works with th National Council for Construction (NCC) in Category R, Grades 4 up to 1, and have a Tax Clearance Certificate with Zambia Revenue Authority, proof of which should be shown. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures and a preference factor of 7,5% will applied for eligible domestic firms. Eligible bidders may obtain the bidding documents upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kwacha 500,000.00 or its equivalent in any convertible currency at the prevailing exchange rate in cash or bank certified cheque. The tender document may be obtained fron the Procurement Office of the Road Development Agency, Plot n. 33, Government/Fairley Roads,Ridgeway, PO Box 50003, Lusaka. Telegraphicand telefax offers will not be accepted. All bids, in sealed envelopes and accompained by a Bid Security of not less than 2% of the bid sum, duly signed and sealed by the guarantors must be deposited in the tender box at :

on or before Friday 22nd May2009at 14.00 hrs localtime.

Pleasenote that late bids shall not be accepted.

Kyrgyz Republic : National Road Rehabilitation Project

EBRD/BERS - National Road Rehabilitation Project (NRRP), Phase I
 INVITATION FOR PREQUALIFICATION

This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which was published in Procurement Opportunities, on the EBRD website on 4 March 2009. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic (the Employer) intends applying the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [the Bank] towards the cost of the National Road Rehabilitation Project, Phase I (Osh-Isfana Road). The Employer intends prequalifying firms and joint ventures to tender for the following contract(s) to be funded from part of the proceeds of the loan: 

 Burgandy-Batken Road Rehabilitation (km 155-220).

The works comprise rehabilitation of existing asphalt roads, completion of existing gravel roads, and construction of new alignment through hilly/rolling/plains terrain.
The new works will include excavation, filling, granular subgrade/subbase/shoulders, crushed stone base, Marshall asphalt binder course and wearing course, drainage, new and rehabilitated bridges and culverts, to produce a new 2-lane asphalt road. The construction period is 24 calendar months. Prequalification and tendering for contracts to be financed with the proceeds of the loan from the Bank is open to firms and joint ventures of firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank’s loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser´s/Employer´s country.

Prequalification documents may be obtained from the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kyrgyz Soms 1,000 (one thousand) or equivalent in a convertible currency. In case of discrepancies between electronic version and hardcopy the latter will prevail.
The prequalification applications must be duly completed and delivered to the address below, on or before 16:00 hours local time on 12 June 2009. Documents which are received late may be rejected and returned unopened.
