Sundareswarar Alloy & Stainless Steel a group company of Best & Crompton is to set up an alloy steel manufacturing unit at Seyanoor near Manamadurai in Sivaganga district of TN. The project is to be implemented in 3 phases and phase I entails a capacity of 300,000 TPA at an investment of Rs.7,500 million. Consultants & equipment suppliers have been identified. As of March 2009, the foundation stone for the project has been laid and civil works are expected to commence in June 2009. The phase I is scheduled to be completed in 18 months. The company also proposes to invest Rs.15,000 million in the second & third phases in the next 5 years to 6 years.
